Reneters, owners and their guests are reminded that Torre Pacheco has a by law which states that dogs in public places must be on a lead AT ALL times. This law includes La Torre, as our roads are public and we therefore fall under the by laws of Torre Pacheco council.
Please therefore ensure that ALL dogs are kept on a lead/leash when being walked on La Torre. Most owners do comply with this and also 'pick up' after their dogs have been to the toilet, but there are still some people who ignore this. Additionally, some responsible owners who have approached individuals not complying have been verbally abused, which is not acceptable when they are just trying to educate/advise about the law. Please respect the environment of La Torre and ensure that faeces are picked up and not left to be trodden on by someone else.
Dog owners are also reminded that their pets must be micro chipped by a registered vet who will put the details on a data base. Additionally, dangerous breeds have to be registered with the local authority (Torre Pacheco) and must additionally be muzzled in public places - which obviously includes La Torre.
Security have been instructed to warning those exercising dogs not on a lead and record the details. If seen a second time they will be issued with a fine notice.
