There was a complaint from a subcommunity president who threatened legal action about the planned sports events when discovering the ‘sports trainers/coaches’ were not correctly locally certified, therefore the Social Committee cancelled these activities, and hopefully we might be able to hold them once the right certifications and insurance cover are obtained.
Innocently, the word ‘Spanish’ was inserted to acknowledge the veracity of the complaint before it was published, which although technically correct, caused a reaction that was not intended – therefore the original statement was quickly removed.
Following confirmation from the Community lawyer, the Social Committee cancelled the events involved, however the circumstances however remain and the Social Committee will seek to find a solution if possible, as we all wish to maintain the long-standing international relations existing in this multi-national community of owners, and of course, the Social Committee should ensure compliance with Spanish regulations for any activity that is planned, and that is the main reason for the cancellation of certain activities.
British and Spanish regulations (the latter also subject to European Union regulations) are different. However, after the end of the state of emergency in May, the Social Committee was looking to start offering activities to bring life back to the Resort as soon as possible.
We would like to apologise for any error committed or any harm caused; we all want the same for the Resort – to improve coexistence and tolerance and fill the Resort with happiness - and the Social Committee will continue working to that end.
THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE.
