How to reset your Telecomms control box (CPE)

Introduction:

Usually, when a customer buys their property and gains access to it for the first time, the Polaris Telecom Modem CPE is already installed behind an access panel. When the customer requires either the activation of broadband internet or the installation of a telephone, the technicians from Polaris Telecom activate the CPE to give access to the contracted services. Such equipment does not need to be manipulated by the technicians, and it has been rarely necessary to be replaced, so they are installed in the properties due to their reliability and the possibility of being remotely activated.

What to do when the equipment fails:

It is possible that this equipment, being installed inside the properties, loses the connection and it has to be reset. Sometimes, the Polaris Telecom technicians can reset it remotely, but some other times they cannot, so the quickest and easiest way to reset it is to switch it off, but how can we do this?

There are two different options:

* One of them can only be done by the qualified staff from Polaris Telecom, and it is by opening the access panel within the property and resetting the equipment.

* Another easier way is to switch off the thermal-magnetic breakers which supply the equipment from the fuse box in the property. You can do it yourself.

Which thermal-magnetic breakers supply it and how do I switch them off?

In the attached picture, you will find a fuse box with the thermal-magnetic breakers, similar to the one in the properties. The breakers that supply the CPE modem are the two last ones on the right on the second row of thermal-magnetic breakers within the fuse box. To switch them off, we have to put the horizontal black levers down, in some cases we can hear a “click” when putting them down. We must keep the levers in that position for about 30 seconds, and we have to lift them up again to their initial position. It is possible that when they are switched off, some other electrical appliance is switched off too. Just to comment that it is not dangerous.

Final Comments:

This equipment has got a two-year guarantee, so if the broadband internet breakdown is not repaired, or the telephone does not reconnect after appropriately resetting them, please contact our Customer Service Department to arrange a qualified technician to go to your property and repair the breakdown.

A veces la conexión de Internet en vuestras propiedades se pierde y hay dos opciones para fijarlo.

1. Resetear el equipo, pero PW Telecom solo puede hacerlo.
2. Tu puedes apagar los interruptores termo magnéticos en tu caja de fusibles.

Encuentre debajo una fotografía de la caja con los interruptores marcado. Son los últimos a la derecha en la segunda línea. Para apagarlos tienes que poner los interruptores abajo en posición apagado. Mantenerlos abajo por aproxímate 30 segundos y entonces ponerlos en posición encendido. No es peligroso.

Este equipo hay garantía de dos anos, entonces si tu conexión banda ancha o teléfono no funcionan después de resetearlos, por favor contactar nuestro departamento de Servicio al Cliente para hacer una cita por un técnico calificado.
